Humility is Critical to Receiving God’s Grace

Humble yourself and you will be exalted exalt yourself and you will be humbled. Luke 14:11 “For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.””.1 Peter 5:5 “Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.'”.That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”” James 4:6 “But he gives us more grace.God is not out to hurt your pride he is out to kill your pride.

Proverbs 16:18 “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.”.Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.” Proverbs 16:5 “The LORD detests all the proud of heart.Proverbs 11:2 “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.”.Proverbs 8:13 “To fear the LORD is to hate evil I hate pride and arrogance, evil behaviour and perverse speech.”.God hates pride we must learn to hate what God hates and to love what God loves.Not our upbringing or injustices suffered. Pride is our greatest problem. Not the devil. Pride is the first sin and the most serious sin.The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.” For everything in the world–the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does–comes not from the Father but from the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 John 2:15-17 (NASB) “Do not love the world or anything in the world.Yet, this is one of the major categories of sin the Bible says is in each of our hearts. Most people do not consider themselves proud or vulnerable to pride.
